Brea's Club (Blaze) and Signature (Crossfire) teams are forming for
the upcoming season. These teams are for boys and girls ages 9 to 18 years
old. If your child would like to tryout for a team and did not participate
in a Cal South league in 2007/08 we will need a check/cash for $22.50
for insurance. The $22.50 will be reimbursed if your child does not make
the team.
Why play BSA soccer?
The Brea Soccer Association is here to provide an excellent environment
for soccer growth and development. We have a full compliment of soccer
playing opportunities for players 5-18 years old. In America soccer is
evolving and developing at a very rapid pace. Southern California is widely
recognized as being on the cutting edge of competitive excellence. BSA
is at the heart of north orange county and is surrounded on all sides
by very good soccer organizations. What you will find unique about BSA
is it's commitment to every player at every level.
From a team perspective we have 3 levels of play. We run our own Recreation
program in the city of Brea known as "Heat" caters to players
aged 5-18 years old. At the younger ages all games are played in the city
of Brea and at the older ages as fewer kids are playing we compete in
Calsouth's "Innercity" gaming circuit and teams play in Brea
and travel to surrounding cities for games. For more on our Recreational
program please visit the Heat pages.
Our Signature
program "Crossfire"
is a chance for players 8-13 years old to play in a competitive environment
that is still classified as "recreational" by Calsouth. Our
Crossfire teams play in Calsouth's Signature league. Because of the size
of the city of Brea BSA fields at most 1 or 2 boys and girls teams per
age each year. Coaches of Crossfire teams are selected by committee consisting
of qualified coaches and our Technical Director. All Crossfire coaches
must obtain at minimum a State "E" license. In order to play
on a Crossfire team a player must attend a tryout and be selected by the
coach for the team. In essence it is like playing on an all-star team
all season long. For more on our Signature program please visit our Crossfire
pages.
The Brea
"Blaze" Soccer Club is at the apex of BSA.
This program is for players aged 9-18 years old who have the ability and
want to make the commitment to make soccer their number one sport. Blaze
teams compete year round in the Coast Soccer League which is recognized
as the best youth soccer league in the country, yes, that is country as
in the USA. Within the CSL there are 5 different levels of play: Bronze,
Silver, Silzer Elite, Gold and Premier. Every Blaze team's goal is to
develop as individuals and to compete as a team to win their group in
order to advance to the next level. In addition to the CSL, Blaze teams
compete in the Calsouth State Cup and various tournaments throughout California
and sometimes beyond. Our Blaze teams are led by a professional coaching
staff that is hired by our Technical Director. For more on our club program
please visit our Blaze pages.
In addition to the 3 levels of play BSA provides quality programs for
both individual and team development. These programs are offered year
round and have been developed by our Technical Director with a mindset
to compliment the team environment and to help each individual compete
to their potential and beyond.
All of the programs offered below that are relevant to Blaze and Crossfire
players are included in their fees. Therefore no extra money is required
to attend. Heat players wishing to get involved may have to pay a nominal
fee for the extra training.
The BSA Goalkeeping Academy is led by our Director of
GK, Kevin Cralley and is open to all players 10-18 years old. Regular
Academy sessions are scheduled on the calendar and 1 on 1 sessions can
be arranged as well.
The BSA Fall Academy is led by our Technical Director,
Matt Morse and runs on Fridays throughout the Fall season. It is open
to all BSA players aged 5-14 years old.
The BSA Spring Academy, also led by our TD runs from
February through April and, like the fall academy, focuses on the technical
development of the player up to 14 years old.
The BSA Sparks League is a player development program
that runs for 8-10 weeks in the spring. This is a program for 5-9 year
olds and though it may appear to be just an unstructured fun time for
the kids it is actually a highly purposeful time following exactly the
guidelines as set forth by the US Soccer Federation.
The BSA Summer Camp happens one week a year during August.
This is a great time for young players to enjoy the game as well as for
older experienced players to learn some coaching skills all under the
leadership of our TD and club coaching staff.
BSA is committed to improving the league's resources and services.
With this in mind, BSA has chosen Soccer Town as our preferred supplier.
The partnership with Soccer Town will offer BSA members special pricing
on merchandise and outstanding service. BSA members are able to view and
order BSA items online.
Brea Soccer Assocation Online Store
BSA is also proud to announce that PUMA
is the exclusive supplier for all Brea Blaze (Club) and Crossfire (Signature)
teams. PUMA will also offer our Rec players special cleat, shin guard
and ball packages through Soccer Town. Other discounts and offers will
also be created for our coaches and referees. The BSA
PUMA soccer partnership is another move designed to provide
all of our members with quality products that reinforce our commitment
to building a successful soccer association.
