JUSA Spring League (Rec & Signature)
JUSA has released the following key dates for Spring soccer:
- Team Application Deadline - TBD, but the sooner the better
- Team Fee Payment Deadline - February 28
- Schedule Posted - TBD
- Season Begins - March 15 and runs through May 18
Spring Soccer is run through JUSA. Brea Soccer Association plans to assist
Brea coaches with their Spring Soccer teams. We can help with registration
with the JUSA Spring Soccer program. BSA will provide local Brea practice
fields for Brea teams. BSA will offer JUSA our local Brea fields to be
used for Brea home games. BSA reserves the right to approve coaches and
teams and to request an accounting of income and expenses for any team
that Brea assists or that uses Brea fields and resources for practice.
Coaches, start asking players if they are available. You enter Spring
Soccer as an entire team – there is no draft. This means you can
bring your existing team or add players from other teams, and also get
new players. You're responsible for forming your team, submitting applications,
collecting money, etc. You'll need to decide to use the uniforms you currently
have or to purchase new ones. JUSA had a uniform purchase program that
was very economical in 2007 and they may offer one again in 2008. Once
you decide that you will coach a Spring Soccer team please notify BSA
and let us know when you have a full team or if you need additional players.
Parents, if interested you need to find a team for your player. Your current
Coach may carry his or her own team into spring soccer so ask early; or,
another Coach may form a team from different sources, so start looking.
Last year, JUSA also assisted individual players with placement on a team.
See JUSA’s Spring League link on its website for further information.

Why spring soccer? Spring Soccer can be what you and your coach want
to make of it. The focus can be instructional recreational play or a higher
level of competitive play. Although there are roster limits, squads can
be large enough so that if some players are involved in other sports and
you're missing one or two on any given game day, you'll have a few subs
to go around. Most important of all, the best way to learn the game is
still just to play it.
Included below is the 2007 Spring schedule and standings. This link can
be used to understand where and when you might play in the 2008 Spring
league. We will update this page with the new 2008 schedule and standings
as soon as they are released by JUSA.
