AC Brea Youngers Director, Concordia graduate and former Northwood coach Steve Tatone will take over the OLu boys soccer program this upcoming fall.

Orange Lutheran is pleased to announce that longtime Orange County club and high school coach Steve Tatone will assume the role of boys soccer head coach.

Coach Tatone brings with him almost 30 years of club and high school coaching experience. He currently coaches at AC Brea, where he also serves on their board of directors. His most recent high school coaching position was a successful run at Northwood High School in Irvine from 2002–2010, where he led the girls soccer program to multiple league titles and became a mainstay in the OC Register County Top 10 rankings, as well as coaching the boys team from 2008-2010, before stepping down to focus on growing business opportunities and responsibilities.

After much prayer and faith-based counsel, Coach Tatone followed a strong calling to leave his business career, returning to coach the sport he loves and to pursue aspirations of one day teaching. During this transition away from the business world, Coach Tatone prayed for an opportunity to someday coach at an institution where Christ comes first and says this was the one position that would bring him back to a high school touchline.

He is a graduate of Concordia University, Irvine, and resides in Irvine with his wife Laurenne and their four children: Gabriela, 18, Maximiliano, 8, Vincenzo, 6, and Giancarlo, 4. Coach Tatone is very excited and feels truly blessed to be the steward of this position and to bring his experience, passion, style of play and successful leadership to the Orange Lutheran High School boys soccer program.
